暖かい木の色合いは、愛する人を亡くして嘆き悲しむ家族にとって悲しみを整理する助けとなり、そこに行く人々の恐怖心を和らげることでしょう。 香港では火葬場と納骨堂の需要が急増しましたが、住民は、それらを自宅近くに設置されることには消極的です。このプロジェクトでは、こうした矛盾を解決する画期的な管理・建築コンセプトが試みられています。

Wo Hop Shek Columbarium and Crematorium
The project consists of a public Crematorium and Columbarium. The Crematorium has 3 services halls and a cremation plantroom. The innovative planning, peaceful service hall design as well as the integrated landscape provide a silent and peaceful place for grieving families to say goodbye to the deceased. The Columbarium houses 43,710 niches for bone ashes. It is designed as a parklike environment with a niche block with timber facade and thematic gardens of remembrance. It reduces sense of fear of a traditional columbarium and gives this building type a new image to the public.
