グッドデザイン賞は今年60年目を迎えました。1957年に日本デザインの底上げのためにはじまったこの制度は、いまでは世界中のデザインの中から、その年のデザインの潮流を見出し、これからの未来を共に考えるための国際的なデザイン賞へと成長しました。
今年も受賞デザインを一堂に集め、「GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2016」を開催します。1,200件を超える受賞デザインには、そのすべてに生まれた目的や背景があります。展示やデザイナーズプレゼンテーション、ワークショップなどでの体験を通じて、それぞれのデザインがなぜ「GOOD」であるのかに触れることが、また新たな創造への架け橋となることを願っています。

This year marks the 60th year of the GOOD DESIGN. Launched in 1957 to raise the standard of Japanese design, this program has grown into an international design award that seeks to identify each year's trends in design around the globe and offer an opportunity to get together to think about the future. We are delighted to be holding the GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2016, bringing together all of the award winning designs under one roof. All of the 1,200 award winning designs have a story to tell about their purpose and background. The exhibition, designers' presentation, and workshop provide a chance to encounter these designs first hand and see what makes each one “good.” We hope that this will serve as a bridge to new creative endeavors.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who made this exhibition possible.

このGOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION2016でご紹介するのは、2016年度のグッドデザイン賞に輝いた、プロダクト、建築、取り組みなど幅広いジャンルを横断する最新のデザインです。これらのデザインには、いずれも「私たちの暮らしや社会はこうあってほしい」「私たちはこのように生きたい」という人びとの想いが反映されています。また、デザインは、環境やテクノロジーが大きく変化する今の時代において、新しくもたらされる技術や、未来への可能性を誰もが享受できるものにするための重要な役割を担っています。

All these designs reflect people's wish that, “our lifestyle and society will be like this,” or “we want to live like this.” In addition, design plays a significant role in enabling everyone to enjoy emerging technology and future potential in the current era where environment and technology have been fundamentally changed.
