Good Design Award
As the organizer of Good Design Award, Japan Institute of Design Promotion has released the results of Good Design Award 2013 on October 1. Good Design Award, established in Japan by 1957, is a comprehensive program for the evaluation and encouragement of design. The design applicants come from wide range of fields including architecture, project and so forth. The screening is carried out in several of perspectives to select the "Good Design", not only about beauty but also the consideration for the environment, usability and ability of propose to society.
From 3000 entries of this year, with the strict screening, finally, 1000 design are awarded including 10 candidates for Good Design Grand Award, and Good Design Best 100 as the candidates for Good Design Gold Award and other Special Award. The result of Special Awardwill be announced by November 7.

About "Good Design Grand Award"
The Grand Award commends one exquisite and popular design, which could represent the "Design of the Year". It will be selected by vote from jury, all of Good Design Award winners and visitors to GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2013.
About "Good Design BEST 100"
About "Good Design Exhibition 2013"
Good Design Exhibition will show all the recipients of Good Design Award 2013. It will be held from October 30 to November 4 at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi, Tokyo. Until last year, we held the event at convention halls in surrounding area of Tokyo. From this year, we move the venue to more central location in Tokyo and expect to attract more visitors.
About "Good Design BEST 100 Designers Presentation"
Good Design BEST 100 Designers Presentation is a special event that designers of BEST 100 will make a 5mins presentation regarding their award recipients in public, at the Good Design Exhibition 2013 venue.
