This year, the total entries amounted to 4,085, from which 1,229 were selected as Good Design Award recipients. Including 6 candidates for Grand Award and highly regarded for their originality, proposals, beauty and perfection Good Design BEST 100.

GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2016 results

29 awards from the special category established in 2011 for designs on the Great East Japan Earthquake disaster reconstruction* and 40 awards from Thailand and India selected as a part of cooperative project with foreign organizations.

Good Design Grand Award 2016 will be selected from 6 candidates for Grand Award, special awards including Good Design Gold Award will be selected from BEST 100, the announcement is at Oct. 28.

Mr. Kazushi Nagai who is good design award president and Ms. Fumie Shibata who is vice president give the message of Awards of 2016: " Not insisting just One protrude design, Each respective design charging in each role sincerely, and accumulating our live and making image of this world." This year's Good Design Award make more deepen role of proper up to now. Utilizing existence things and complementing each other design's role mutually, is this years much more awards special features.

All awards of Good Design Award 2016 will be displayed at Good Design Exhibition 2016 （G Exhibition) at Tokyo Midtown from Oct. 28. And My Favorite Choice for Good Design 2016 Good Design Award 2016 jury's personal selections Exhibition & Exhibition to Vote for the Grand Award will start at 29 September. Visitor can voting and select Grand Award of 2016.
