Good Design Award

The Long Life Design Award has been developed for many years through dialogue with manufacturers and users, and society, and is an award for honoring designs that will become the cornerstone of living and society and that are desired to continue to play the role in the future and designs with the power to continue to be a standard beyond value that changes with the times.

The eligible designs for the award are products or services widely endorsed by users and consumers and are assumed to have been continuously provided for more than 10 years at the time of the review and continue to be provided in the future.
Long Life Design Award judging committee members select and judge designs recommended by a wide range of general users through the website and decide the recipients of the award.

The 2019 Good Design/Long Life Design Award started reception of recommendations and application on April 3.
After first screening and second screening based on actual product by the judging committee, as a result, 15 were awarded the 2019 Long Life Design Award.

Period of recommended from users (April 3 - May 23)
Organizer received the recommended from the users via the entry site and invited business owner and company to apply.

Period of entry for company (April 4 - May 23)
Company submitted the entry information via the entry site.

1st Screening (May 24 - June 17)
Judged based on the information that applicant filled in the entry site.

2nd Screening (July 31 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba)
The applicants who passed 1st screening submitted the actual items and panel to participate in 2nd screening.
